The Route

You’ll See It Soon.
Not Today.

We’re not releasing routes yet.
That’s intentional.

Outlaw Gravel will run primarily through the rolling, punchy roads of what locals call the South Valley, terrain that rewards timing over brute force, with big views to the west, north, and back toward Steamboat Mountain.

If you know these roads, you already understand.
If you don’t, you will.

Be ready for race day - May 31, 2026

Permits pending from Routt County, the City of Steamboat Springs and other entities.

Riders will choose between two routes:

  • Long Course – 66 miles

  • Short Course – 40 miles

Both routes use the same enduro format and reward smart racing. Strong riders can push when it counts, while neutral sections keep the atmosphere relaxed for those new to racing. You control the effort.

Two Options. Same Game.

Route Length & Effort

The course lengths are intentional.

This is an early-season race, built so riders can press hard in the timed segments, with untimed sections placed just as deliberately for recovery and positioning.

Don’t be fooled by the mileage.

These routes will test your early-season fitness. And no — this isn’t flat. The long course delivers nearly 5,000 feet of climbing, with plenty of time out of the saddle.

Early season.
Real effort.
